Thompson's Get An Early Christmas Gift

Our big Christmas gift came this past Monday. Monday, Trey finished his last day of radiation!! The doctor had added on a few more doses. We originally were scheduled to be done last Wednesday. Trey is happy to be done with daily doses, as well as daily doctors until the New Year. Trey's next visits with the oncologist will now just be follow ups and every three month scans. The first scan will be sometime in late February.

Along with the good things happening there, Trey has been downsized to only one week of physical therapy. The PT doctor wants him moving and exercising as much as possible. Trey has been working out with light weights and cardio since he has been cleared. Along with the clear for moderate exercise, the doctor has requested for him to start driving short distances. Someone must ride with him on his drives, but this is a major freedom for Trey. For the people in the passenger seats, it feels like getting in a car with a fresh kid with a permit. Treys vision is slowly getting better. The ophthalmologist ran some tests on his last check up, Trey has dropped down in prisms. This is a good sign that he is moving in the right direction! Our family is ending this year on a positive note, just in time for the holidays. We hope this message finds you and your family well during this joyous time of year.

"Christmas is the spirit of giving without a thought of getting. It is happiness because we see joy in people. It is forgetting self and finding time for others. It is discarding the meaningless and stressing the true values."
