Thompsons Take On The Cancer Journey

Before we join the world of cancer patients in radiation, we have a few extra hurdles to go through. The week for Trey will consist of two three hour scans, and two spinal taps. This is to ensure he is still eligible for radiation. If any new masses have formed, we will be switching over to proton therapy treatments. Although proton therapy is new and has it's advantages, it also has it's disadvantages. Along with the multiple tests, Trey is also keeping up with rehabilitation. Trey see's an occupational therapist and physical therapist three times a week, this is due to partial paralysis on the right side of his body. Trey will be seeing an OT and PT for 8 weeks, then he be reevaluated after the eight weeks.

Although our journey has just begun, we are forever grateful for all the support and help we have received this far. Our community is more amazing than we could ever have imagined. Trey has met other cancer patients/survivors, that have given us hope. We know that this is a battle we will forever be dealing with, but knowing we have the support behind us makes the difference.
